Signature for the Consulting Service Contract
The Second Beijing Environment Project –Technical Assistance Contract in Promotion of Efficient Gas Energy Technologies, was signed by Energy-Net & Nexant (combo) and Beijing Heating Energy Conservation Center (Capital Management Agency for the World Bank) on February, 22nd,2007. 
The World Bank’s board of directors approved 349 million USD loans for The Second Beijing Environment Project on June 20th, 2006. This project aims to improve environment quality in Beijing through following three steps:
a. Replace 2000 units coal-burning boilers with gas boilers
b. Promote energy-saving technologies & demonstration projects in heating industry
c. Strengthen environmental-related management

Nexant, which currently has 250 employees, was previously Bechtel Technology and Consulting (BTeC). It was spun off from Bechtel Corporation on January 1, 2000 to focus on consulting services and technology development in the energy area. Bechtel Corporation, also headquartered in San Francisco, is currently the majority owner of Nexant. Bechtel Corporation is more than 110 years old and is one of the world’s largest engineering/construction companies with annual sales of US$17 billion. It builds literally every kind of plants and facilities. Bechtel is also known for its project management capability. The more notable recent projects managed by Bechtel are Euro Tunnel and Hong Kong airport.
